Don't be afraid to critique my paintings. I love constructive feedback and never take what is said about my art personally.
My name is Andrew Blowers. I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior. I am now a graduate student in the Behavior Analysis and Rehabilitation program at the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. I have been drawing/painting since I could pick up a pencil and tend to draw inspiration from my day to day activities. I provide behavioral therapy for individuals suffering from a developmental delay (autism, down syndrome, etc.).
The style found in my paintings developed from interacting with these individuals. One moment they can be completely involved in what were doing. Then BAM! They are in their own little world, making it hard for me as a therapist to regain their attention in order to continue therapy. As an outside observer I can only imagine what they are seeing/perceiving and how those perceptions are stimulating enough to capture their attention.
